UNITY WALK | In Honor of Mother Emanuel AME Church | Charleston
Tonight I am grateful… blessed to be part of a loving, caring community which has come together…as it always has… in support of those who have lead and are leading this Charleston community… our state, our world, by grace.
The Unity Walk was organized in support of the good folks of Mother Emmanuel AME Church in historic downtown Charleston, SC. What started as a ripple in the community turned into a tidal wave of folks who came out in support.
Folks walked peacefully…joyfully…Flags were flown, boats gathered below the bridge…one flying a creative banner of support. Across the harbor the downtown church steeples rose… one could view Mother Emmanuel through the hot humid evening. A gentleman sat quietly playing his harmonica . . . the tune? Amazing Grace! Hymns were sung… the peace sign dramatically displayed to those who passed by in their cars… horns honked!!!!! Hugs were given…Hearts were full…
Appropriately, the crescent moon, high in the evening sky shone brightly . . . ~Grace, don’t you think?
Let it be said: It was a good day!

Very impressive. I k ow these people are part of a forward movement that will prove to be a life changing experience for many. What an experience you shared with so many. The crowd was very upbeat at times and somber other times. The healing has begun. This is a defining time in the history of Charleston and a wake up call for all of America. I know you are proud to have experienced such unity in the midst of the horrific crime that was committed. Each life you photographed is in some way affected by this coming together and reaching out to all mankind. Your spirit shines thru.
