Shere poetry. The ship seems to tower into forever. Remarkably made and a beauty to behold both inside and out. The Coast Guard chose well to keep her as their training vessel. What an honor to be a cadet in training on the sea aboard the Eagle. I sit here envisioning her at full mast with her sails, booms, ropes and rigging all in use and our flag flying in the sky. History has a special place in our military. The mere fact that she sails gleaming on the sea 60 plus years later is amazing. Watching history unfold gives us a sense of entitlement. Today, more than ever we need to keep our eyes and feet planted firmly on all the sacrifices our military have made and continue to make to keep us free. Thank you for the journey.
