2016 PICCOLO SPOLETO | NANCY D. HAWK | MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT
Perfect acoustics and natural light on a cloudy rainy day provided a flawless atmosphere for chamber music inside the Mepkin Abby Church as internationally renowned cellist Natalia Khoma, internationally renowned pianist Volodymyr Vynnytsky, Charleston Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster and violinist Yuriy Bekker, and NPR commentator and violist Miles Hoffman in rare performances of Robert Schumann’s Piano Quartet and Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Trio op. 9 No 1.
A reception followed the concert. Both Yuriy Bekker and Natalia Khoma are professors at the College of Charleston.
Much appreciation is given to the family of Nancy D. Hawk who graciously assisted with this concert and to Cuban-born artist Madeleine Meehan for her energetic drawings inside Piccolo Spoleto's Spotlight Concert series program.

on May 31, 2016Spectacular event. I have truly enjoyed visiting this venue through your trained eye in my comfortable arm chair spot. I can only imagine the talent. They all had trained ears and hands and I'm sure performed the concert as only true professionals can. I feel like I could hear the performance and by the look of the audience they were received very well. This is a beautiful venue for sure. All attending seemed mesmerized by the over the top talent. Time seems to stand still for me while I'm enjoying your gift as well. I feel very blessed that you continue to share yourself with me. You have a true art form in your ability to capture spontaneity and and entertain all with your camera. Once again, I am spellbound.
