PICCOLO SPOLETO Sunset Serenade 2015
PICCOLO SPOLETO | Sunset Serenade | US Customs House | Charleston SC
Amazing music coupled with a historic venue The Sunset Serenade is always the perfect opening for The Piccolo Spoleto Festival. Featured this year was The Charleston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Ken Lam. Solo Soprano Margaret Kelly Cook thrilled the crowd as did her ‘accompanying singing bird’. Among the performed selections were “The Star Spangled Banner”, “Quando me’n vo soletta”, “O Mio Babbino Caro”, “Les Filles de Cadix”, “Overture to The Barber of Seville”, “Tchaikovsky’s 4th Symphony”, &
“America in Paris”. The program was opened by Scott Watson, Piccolo Spoleto Festival Director.
