Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is well known as ‘America's Most Beautiful Gardens’. Founded by the Drayton family in 1676 it has survived the American Revolution through the Civil War, is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, is the oldest public gardens in America opening to visitors in 1870 and still thrives today growing thousands of beautiful flowers and plantings. A main house and lake are so magnificent to visit.
