VIEWS FROM THE RAVENEL BRIDGE
RAVENEL BRIDGE
Connecting MOUNT PLEASANT SC with HISTORIC CHARLESTON
A $700 million project | so much to fall in love with
There are so many things to fall in love with in our Lowcountry town; The Arthur Ravenel Bridge is one of them. We drive it… sail under it… fly over it… we depend on it for so many things. But once you walk it, bike it or run it one you will fall in love with it. Stop and sit at the top of it… you will be awe struck. Stand in the center looking up…astounded at its engineering marvel. The Arthur Ravenel Bridge is utterly tremendous!
The views from the top of the bridge are amazing! Look left, you see the Charleston Harbor; Patriot’s Point the staging ground for the USS Yorktown, Clamagore Submarine and Charleston Harbor Marina; out to Ft. Sumter; through Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant; then to the Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse and water tower… all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.
Look straight ahead you can view historic Fort Sumter with the majestic Pride sailing in front of it; looking further out, James Island and the Morris Island Lighthouse. Looking right, first the Cooper River to its historic Charleston Peninsula with shipping docks & cranes; a lot full of shrink-wrapped BMW’s; US Customs House; and many steeples of our Holy City including, St. Michael’s, St. Phillips, Mother Emanuel AME, Citadel Square Baptist, & Second Presbyterian; looking across the Peninsula the Medical University of South Carolina to the Ashley River.

on July 16, 2015These photos actually take my breath away. There's a peacekeeping mission in the coast and your depiction of the beauty that surrounds it is phenomenal. I have a panoramic view of a place that is more than amazing, it's epic. You make me want to see all this and more with my own eyes. I think spiritual awakening is a good allegory for all you shared with me. It's God's canvas and it's outstanding. Once again, you had me at frame one.
